A Family Session at Leroy Oaks Forest Preserve: Hydrangeas, Apples, and Tiny Rain Drops oh my!
This shoot almost didn’t happen because the weather was forecasting rain. Sure enough, it did rain, but only the tiniest drops that didn’t even bother us! I am so happy we ended up not rescheduling this because during the very light rain that lasted about 3 minutes, the prettiest ray of light shone out through the field right behind us. It was literally picture perfect!
It’s extra special documenting this family because I shot this lovely couples’ wedding several years ago. Two adorable children later, they are joy and fun personified!
Fernanda had a vision for this shoot, and we landed on Leroy Oaks Forest Preserve. As luck would have it, the hydrangeas were perfectly in bloom. And we had fun playing under a giant tree and by the overgrown fields. Fernanda brought the cutest picnic basket filled with apples. Apples are a genius snack during a photo session, because they can’t get the clothes dirty lol.
Thanks as always to this family for having me document these special seasons in your life! Their daughter had just turned 4 on her golden birthday!
