Thank you for visiting my work! I am so excited that you are here, and I think this means that we can create some beautiful photos together and have tons of fun while doing so. I am not just a wedding photographer, because weddings are really not about the photography, as much as I want to think they are. Your wedding day is a feast and a celebration. On this one day in your life, a cherished group of family and friends will come together like never before, and some crazy and beautiful memories will be made. That exact group of people will probably never be in one place together again in this world. That needs to be documented. I want to document that.
I take on a limited number of unique weddings and other projects each year. By keeping it small, I can really be there for my clients and produce amazing, mind-blowing, high quality work for you. I have been so blessed to have had the opportunity to work with so many amazing couples that I want to become best friends with them after all is said and done. Seriously, my clients are the BEST. Whatever we are doing is all about you- that’s the reason why I get so many good photos. I want to capture the real, the quirky, the raw, the confusing, and the beauty that is your life. I love parties and celebrations for just about anything. I am always trying to come up with an idea for a reason to throw a party. My default is to celebrate. I received my bachelor’s degree in Studio Art and didn’t leave the darkroom for about 2 consecutive years in college. My all time favorite photographer is Cindy Sherman. I also love Alfred Hitchcock movies. And I love Caravaggio’s paintings. I love to discuss anything art related over coffee or tea. The Campfire Mocha at Caribou Coffee is to die for. I am addicted to coffee. I have a love/hate relationship with the Midwest, with love always winning out.
I am inspired by so many different artists, but ultimately I create because I was made by God, who is the epic Creator. I am so thankful and blessed that He has allowed me to make things like photos and express myself through this medium. It’s pretty great.
And my shooting style? Not in your face at all. My clients will tell you that I am unobtrusive and yet very energetic. A maybe confusing combo, but it works. I just wanna get amazing shots, and I want you to look through the photos afterwards and wonder how/why I captured all those tiny details, which happens all the time I am told
What are your rates?
Full wedding overage begins at $2800 and portrait sessions are $400. Please contact me if you would like more info about my engagement and wedding pricing packages.
How can I secure you for my date?
I require a signed contract and a $1000 non-refundable deposit to reserve your awesome date. The rest of the payment is due one month prior to your wedding.
When will I receive my pictures?
You will receive the archive disc of all the images in 4-5 weeks. If you purchase an album, allow 5-6 weeks for delivery after you put in the order.
How many pictures will you give us?
While I take anywhere between 2000-3000, I edit that number down to anywhere between 600-700 images.
Do you shoot with a second photographer?
I offer a package add-on that includes a second photographer. It is an additional $400. I shoot most of my weddings by myself, and I feel comfortable doing that. That being said, I work with some awesome 2nd photographers. We can definitely discuss your specific day-of needs.
Do you travel for weddings?
Even though I am all about the Midwest, I love traveling for weddings! The past few seasons I have shot weddings in Massachusetts, New York, Maine, Vermont, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, and Florida.
Do you have insurance?
YES. ABSOLUTELY. I am insured through PPA and carry a 2 million dollar general liability policy for venues!
How much do you care about photography and what cameras do you use?
I LOVE love photography. Right now I am rocking the Canon 6d and 7d, and my absolute favorite lens is the 50mm 1.2 It is MAGIC. I love anything Canon, the Holga, any instant film camera, and my iPhone 5.
